How To Add Your Own Domain to Your Tumblr Blog Step-By-Step

Tumblerfinal

Source: How-to-geek

Would you like to personalize your Tumblr blog with your own domain name?  Here’s how you can redirect a domain to Tumblr and register it with your blog.

When you signup for a new Tumblr Blog, by default your blog’s address will beyour_blog_name.tumblr.com.  One of the best reasons to use your own domain name is that you could always move the domain to another blog service if you decide to switch and quit blogging at Tumblr.  With your own domain, your blog’s identity is secure, and best of all, once you own a domain it’s free to add it to your Tumblr.  Here’s how to do it.

Redirect Your Domain to Tumblr

First, you need to own a domain name.  There are many popular domain registrars, and you can usually signup for a new domain name for around $10.  If you don’t already have one, find a domain hosting service you feel good with and signup for a new domain name.

Once you’ve got a domain name, you need to direct your domain name to point to Tumblr’s servers.  Or, if you want to keep your domain name at a current site, you could redirect a subdomain to Tumblr.  Our domain was hosted with 1&1, so here’s how to do it there; the process is generally the same on other registrars, though the wording may be slightly different.  Login to your domain administration page, and if your hosting company offers multiple services, select to Manage your Domain.

Now select your domain name, click the DNS button, and select Edit DNS Settings.  Again, this may appear different depending on your domain registrar, but should in general work the same.

Now, on the IP Address settings, select Other IP address, and then enter Tumblr’s IP address:

Manwithps3
Source: How-To-Geek

The PlayStation 3 now costs half the price, has double the storage, and uses half the power. If you need another reason to upgrade, Sony also makes it easy to transfer all of your information to a new console.

Transferring all of your games, data, and settings is easier than ever, and all you need is an ethernet cable. Read on as we walk you through the whole process of setting up your new PS3 and wiping all your information off the old one.

Prep the old PlayStation 3

The first thing you need to do is sync all of your trophy information to Sony’s servers. In the XMB go to game -> trophy collection and push triangle on your controller. The menu will open and you can select sync with server.

The sync will take a few minutes but once it completes all of your trophies will be safely copied on Sony’s servers.

How To Install Non-Market Apps On Your Android Device

Andriod
Source: How-To-Geek

Although the Android Market offers thousands upon thousands of applications to choose from, sometimes you’ll want to break free and install applications that aren’t available on the Market. Read on to learn how.

Android’s Default Defenses

Your Android phone is, by default, set to disallow any applications that aren’t from the Android Market. It’s a wise move as the majority of users are more likely to be exposed to a rogue application than they are to go searching for apps outside of the Market. None the less there are times where you might want to install third-party apps that aren’t sourced through the Market.

For example, earlier today we highlighted Kongregate’s new Android application Kongregate Arcade. Google pulled their app from the Marketplace because it violated one of the Market policies (an application should not install other applications). In the case of Kongregate’s app it isn’t at all malicious (you get the application because you want more games after all) but it does fall afoul of the rules.

Disabling Application Blocking

If you attempt to load an APK file (the Android version of the Windows Mobile CAB or the iOS IPA file) you’ll get an error message like this:

How To Recover Files From Computer With Crashed Operating System

Manwithlaptop

Source: laptoprepair101.com By cj2600

In this guide I explain how to recover files from a laptop (or desktop PC) with crashed, failed, damaged operating system.

WHEN CAN YOU USE THIS RECOVERY GUIDE?

1. The guide will work if your operating system damaged but the laptop (or desktop PC) hardware still works fine.
2. The guide might work if the hard drive has some minor damage, like a few bad sectors.

PREPARING FOR RECOVERY

For this recovery I’ll be using a Ubuntu CD (Linux OS). Also, you can create a bootable Ubuntu USB stick and use that instead of the CD. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a Linux guru for that. The interface will be very similar to Windows OS.

You’ll need another working computer to download and create a bootable Ubundu CD or USB stick.

1. Download the latest version of Ubuntu OS here. When you click on the download button you’ll start downloading an ISO image.

2. Burn this ISO image on a CD or create a bootable USB stick. It’s explained on the same Ubuntu download page, just scroll a little bit down.

3. Find the target drive where you going to save recovered files. You can use an external USB hard drive or USB memory stick. The target drive can be formatted with any common Windows file system: FAT, FAT32, NTFS.

How To Create a Wooden Toy Car in 3Ds Max

Source: cg.tutsplus.com By Hatice Bayramoglu on Jan 26th 2011

Tutorial Details

  • Software: Autodesk 3ds Max
  • Difficulty: Beginner
  • Completion Time: 1hr
  • Tutorial Files: None

In this tutorial, artist Hatice Bayramoglu will give us a overview of the process he used to create his Wooden Toy Car scene. Although the main focus of the tutorial is the modeling of the car. Hatice will also give us a brief look at the lighting and rendering settings he used to complete the scene. Let’s take a look…

Part 1 : Modeling

Step 1

We start by creating a sketch from which we’ll start the model. Here is mine :

Step 2

OK. Now we start work. We’ll start to model the Body of the car by creating a box. You can see the measurements in the Parameters panel below. If you look carefully, you’ll see that I’m not adding any additional segments, and the Segs are set to 1. This is because I prefer to add the segments myself later using Editable Poly.
