How To Disassemble A Nokia X6: A Step By Guides

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

  • Remove your back cover, battery and sim.

  • Use something like the edge of a credit card to lever the bottom cover off.

  • Your phone should now look like below.

  • Lift the phone up and you'll see a screw, circled below. Remove this screw.

  • Now use your credit card to lever off the top cover, as shown below.

  • Your phone should now look like below.

  • Turn your phone over. Pull the housing in the direction shown by the arrows to release the clips holding it in place.

  • Lift the phone towards you and use your credit card to lift the housing over the notches holding it in place (circled). You should now be able to lift the housing away from the rest of the phone.

  • With the housing removed your phone should look like below. Remove the six screws, circled in the photo below.

  • You can now lift the battery compartment away from the circuit board. Lift it from left to right and note that it's still attached by a ribbon cable, so don't try to remove it completely. Lever the charger connector from the point circled in red, below.

  • Your phone should now look like below.

  • Lift the circuit board up. It'll still be attached by three ribbons (see the close up in the next photo).

  • Three ribbons need to be disconnected, circled below. The left and middle ribbons attach like a plug and socket. Lever each one away from the circuit board with the edge of your credit card. The connector on the right is slightly different. Flick with pink/orange coloured latch towards you. This releases the ribbon and you can then pull the circuit board away from the rest of the phone.

  • With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below.

  • Circled below are the two clips that hold the keypad in place. Push these down with your screwdriver and the keypad will release.

  • Now release the clip that holds the camera cover in place, circled below in red.

  • Your phone should now look like below.

  • Turn the phone over and use your screwdriver to push away two of the clips that hold the touch screen in place.

  • Now release the clips on both sides of the phone that also hold the touch screen in place. You should now be able to lift the touch screen away from the phone.

  • With the touch screen removed your phone should look like below. The touch screen is still held in a frame. To release the touch screen from the frame use something like a hair dryer to heat it around the edge to loosen the adhesive holding it in place.

  • To release the LCD screen slide your credit card underneath.
